Projects:
• Marlene Straub Memorial Garden. Through fundraising efforts a Memorial Garden has been built in honor of long time resident Marlene Straub. The garden features various plants and flowers and includes a bell which was brought to Central City in 1890. The bell was restored by the Straub family in 2004 and they built a tower for the bell to be displayed in the center of the garden. At the base of the tower, friends and relatives of Marlene purchased bricks in memorium. The entrance to the garden features a brick wall and historic iron fencing that was all donated.
• Paint the Town
• Annual Christmas decorating, social. Since 2005, the Central City Neighborhood Council has decorated the Marlene Straub Memorial Garden focusing on an old Victorian theme. In 2007 the Central City Town Board voted to keep the garden lit year round.
• Established a $250 Exterior Grant fund for Central City residents.

In 2008, the Neighborhood Council in partnership with the Town of Central City worked to improve the Marie Stearns park with benches, landscaping and the town put in a new swing set.
