Paint the Town is an annual event where NeighborWorks® Dakota Home Resources has partnered with South Dakota Housing, that has taken place every spring since 1994. During the first three weeks of June, teams of volunteers go to a home of the Paint the Town recipient, someone who can not paint their house for themselves, and paint their home. This year volunteers painted seven homes 1 in Deadwood, 1 in Lead, 1 in Sturgis, 2 in Rapid City, 1 in Box Elder and 2 in Edgmont.
